SUS is seeking a Clinical Supervisor for our transitional shelter located at St. John’s Place in Brooklyn, NY 11213.

 

Position Overview

The Clinical Supervisor will provide leadership, guidance, and clinical support to Case Managers addressing mental health and substance use concerns, suicide prevention, psychiatric emergencies, crisis intervention, and client-related incidents.

The Clinical Supervisor will also develop and maintain on-site supportive services, including peer support, relapse prevention, housing readiness, activities of daily living, and health education groups. This position will serve as a liaison to the HRA HIV/AIDS Services Administration Emergency Placement Unit (HASA-EPU) regarding admissions and room closures.

 

Job Requirements

Required Qualifications

  • Master of Social Work (MSW) degree required
  • Minimum of two years of supervisory experience
  • Clinical experience working with individuals affected by HIV/AIDS, substance use disorders, mental illness, and homelessness
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

    • New York State social work license preferred but not required
    • Candidates holding a limited permit are encouraged to apply
    • CASAC or CASAC-T certification strongly preferred
    • Knowledge of the NYC HRA HASA benefits and entitlement system
    • Experience working in a residential or shelter setting
    • Experience with group facilitation, tenant organization, intake and assessment, co-occurring disorders, community outreach, and program development
